HISTORY

 Foundation

Founded in 1921, University of Maryland's' Department of Economics/Business Administration enrolled 394 students. The school was named after Robert H. Smith ('50), co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of the Charles E. Smith Companies in 1998 in recognition of his $15 million endowment gift.

Located at a distance of short drive from the national's capital, the centre of thriving professional opportunities, Smith students get to be in close touch with the business scenario and leverage it to their benefits.

 Infrastructure

The campus has a Eppley Recreation Centre housing several indoor game facilities while the Clarice Smith Performance Art Centre takes care of the student's artistic and cultural interests. The Campus recreation Center is one of the most advanced university facilities featuring two gymnasiums, two indoor pools, one indoor walking/running track and one outdoor pools.

No on-campus housing is available, off-campus housing options are to be sought.
